Today marks a great day in PlayStation history. Sony revealed their latest console today, as well as a string of games coming exclusively to the console, generating hype and excitement for the next wave of gaming. The reveal trailer boasted about the new console’s processing power and refined controller, claiming that it’s going to change the way we see gaming. I cannot express how excited I am to see this console release, but I must add that it's never a good Idea to buy the first model of any generation console. While it’s exciting to own the most modern console, the first model is always filled with issues that we cannot foresee until a few months to a year after its launch. This has been true for every console released since the Nintendo Entertainment System, and is even more relevant with the modern age of gaming. Nevertheless, it’s truly exciting to see that the next step of gaming will hold, and I can’t wait to see the innovations that this brings to the gaming world.

A glimpse of the future: SONY's PlayStation 5 Reveal
I've been gaming as long as I can remember. It's been my all time favorite medium used to convey a story since birth. To me, gaming offers a level of immersion beyond any other medium I can imagine, literally putting the player into the shoes of the main character and becoming one with the experience. It's my hyperfixation, my relaxation, and my social connection for years, and I'm constantly looking to prove myself as worthy of entering the game development industry.

Hello! I saw the PlayStation 5 reveal and it was awesome! There is so much hype for it and all the games that were revealed also looked great and it got me more excited for the PS5. I do agree with not buying the first model of any generation console. I remember when the Nintendo Switch first came out, a lot of people were complaining about some of the problems it had.

ReplyDeleteI just saw the unveiling of the new Playstation and I’m pumped for this next generation of game systems! I’m finding myself at a crossroads though, Not till this past generation did I buy a Sony game system over a Microsoft one. Destiny was what really enticed me to go that route, and I don’t regret it! But now with the new systems almost here, I’m thinking I may jump back on the Xbox bandwagon again. But you’re right to point out that buying the first model usually always comes with some big risks, so I’ll wait a bit for some reviews and make my decision after a couple months of the systems being out.
